The Book of Disquiet (1982) is a posthumous work of Fernando Pessoa. Attributed to the heteronymous Bernardo Soares, it’s an assemblage of fragments (reflections, aphorisms, poems in prose) written among 1913 and 1935. There are several central questionamentos in the poet’s life that are also part of other works. In this text, we adress the fragment 285, to analyze the ipséité, one of the substantial aspects of Pessoa’s literature.
